Kia-Approved Winter Tires are specially designed with a unique rubber compound and an aggressive tread pattern to ensure the best possible grip, performance and safety on wet, icy and snow-covered roads.
Why Winter Tires?
Improved braking distance
With winter tires installed on your Kia, you can expect faster and more precise braking. Winter tires have better traction at -30˚C than all-season tires do at +4˚C, plus a stopping distance that’s around 6 metres shorter than all-season tires*.
Better traction in winter
If conditions are snowy and the temperature is below zero, you will immediately notice the benefit of winter tires. Winter tires have deeper grooves and irregular edges to help improve traction in cold, snowy, icy and slushy conditions. They offer much improved traction as compared to all-season tires.
Handling
Winter tires make maneuvering and reacting in icy conditions safer and easier. Without them, crash-avoidance technologies like electronic stability control will not work. Winter tires allows for sharper 90-degree turns to avoid costly collisions*.
When to change your tires
When temperatures are regularly reaching below +7°C*, it is time to change into winter tires on your Kia. The level of performance, handling and traction increases significantly when the temperatures drop, and becomes a lot safer compared to all-season and summer tires.
